I have been working on and off at night after the kids are in bed. Getting in an hour or two here or there is helping things along. The printer completed the screen artwork late last week (just after Easter). So I had a quick drive out to pick it up Saturday morning. I’m really happy with how it has come up. He has laminated it on to the acrylic, so it’s ready to go 🙂
Here is the latest shot from the front. The rails for the screen overlay have been attached, black contact over screen border, along with the marquee light, speaker + grill, and the coin door.
The final image is from the back, with the door attached. There are two sets of passive vents, with vent covers attached. The vents have a thin layer of foam inside to prevent dust getting in. I may remove the foam to help with air movement, but will see how the temperature holds up. I’ve also attached and painted two handles on the door to make getting it open easier. There are magnets at the top (inside of the door) to help hold it in place.
So from here, the next important step is to adjust the monitor position. It needs to sit another 3cm higher (closer to the screen overlay) and also about 5cm further back to sit perfectly in the viewing area of the screen overlay. The control panel is about 50% done. All holes cut, I just need to install the control panel overlay, and then attach the buttons and joystick.
